Basic regular patterns of paediatric injury rate (according to the data from the trauma centre of the ternopil oblast children’s clinical hospital)

Abstract

Objective: to carry out quantitative and qualitative evaluation of traumatism in children according to the data of the Ternopil Oblast Children’s Hospital, to reveal the regular patterns of traumatism of the paediatric population.
Material and methods. The data obtained through the examination of 7964 children of different ages requesting medical assistance in the trauma centre of the Ternopil Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital during the period of 2017 and I quarter of 2018 was studied.
Results and conclusions. There is clear seasonal dependence, the greatest amount of damage is observed in the warm season. More than 90% of injuries are account for home and street traumatism. In most cases boys aged 7 to 14 years, city residents, are injured. The fractures of the upper and lower extremities predominate.
