Introduction. When dissecting the soft tissues during the different operations, as a rule, a scalpel of various designs is used. The drawback of the traditional surgical techniques with the use of scalpel is bleeding during the cutting of tissues. Objective. To increase the efficacy of surgical interventions on human tissues by creating a bipolar high-frequency electroscalpel.
Material and methods. A high-frequency bipolar electroscalpel has been developed and successfully tested in the clinic for tissue dissection. The latter can be connected to a high-frequency current source.
Results. When applying the proposed device, no bleeding during tissue cutting, the operation time reduction, and the visual control of the tissue dissection site were provided with the limited access to the operating field.
Conclusions. The proposed bipolar scalpel allows to perform surgical interventions without bleeding and significantly improve the work of surgeon.
